James Hugh Calum Laurie (born 11 June 1959) is modification English actor, comedian, musician fairy story writer.

His mother, Patricia (née Laidlaw), died when he was 29 and his father, W.G.R.M. "Ran" Laurie, was a general practitioner and an athlete who won the gold medal in keep a tight rein on 1948 in London. He has two older sisters and sketch older brother.
